The Department of Hospital Internal Medicine is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Advanced Care at Home (Hospital at Home) division. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide a mix of in-person and virtual patient care to hospitalized patients through our virtual platform 24/7. This program is vital to Mayo Clinic's strategic growth plan and the future of care -- Bold. Forward. Unbound. The Advanced Practice Provider works with our team of Physicians, Nurses, Case Management, Pharmacy and Administration to provide quality and strategic care to patients in the comfort of their home using community service providers.
As a NP/PA hospitalist within the Advanced Care at Home program, we pride ourselves by working at the top of our scope of practice/licensure with a significant amount of autonomy. Our providers are expected to stay up to date with the latest evidence-based medicine and provide comprehensive care for a medically complex and diverse patient population. NP/PAs take part in all aspects of the care of the hospitalized ACH patients from acquisition (admission/transfer), daily rounding, coordination of care with consultants and specialists, patient education, and discharge. Our NP/PAs take part in 24/7 care including nights, holidays, and weekends on a rotation structure.

Ideal candidates for the Advanced Care at Home NP/PA position include an extensive medical knowledge base with the desire for continued learning and growth as a health care provider, adaptability with a changing medical landscape and problem-solving skills to approach challenges with a mindset to find creative and effective solutions.
Due to the complexity of our patient population, a minimum of two to three years of inpatient clinical experience is preferred in either acute care medicine (hospital, ER) or clinic practice as a certified NP/PA. Hospital Internal Medicine experience preferred. NO new graduates will be considered at this time.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, ANP or ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
· Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
· Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.
License or Certification:
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license to practice in the State of Florida. BLS is required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
