Responsible for the direction of the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Other duties include developing and implementing goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical objective of the organization. Directing and evaluating departmental operations including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Planning and monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Preparing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental budgets, and ensuring that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinating and directing internal/external audits.
