Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Project Manager II will lead complex multidisciplinary projects under $10M, overseeing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution for outage and online work. Responsibilities include managing teams of 10+, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory standards, and driving project performance. The role requires strong leadership, advanced project management skills, and the ability to manage risk, cost, and schedules. Candidates must have at least 5 years of nuclear industry experience and a proven track record managing complex projects. PMP certification and commercial nuclear plant experience are preferred. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $63.44 – $96.55

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and programs under $10M, including planning, scheduling, execution, and control
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams of 10+ members to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets
  • Oversee refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance activities
  • Develop and manage project budgets; track cost vs. budget and forecast financial performance
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, managing risk, critical path, and float
  • Direct all phases of project execution, including work packages, procurement, and resource planning
  • Coordinate with engineers, vendors, finance, project controls, and cross-functional teams
  • Monitor project performance and resolve schedule delays, risks, and conflicts
  • Develop and manage vendor contracts and external partner relationships
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, industrial safety, ALARA, and regulatory requirements
  • Support outage operations, including OCC coordination
  • Contribute to long-range planning strategies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and coach project managers and team members; act in a leadership capacity as needed
  • Support site self-assessment and corrective action programs


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Business, or related field AND 12+ years of project management experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience
  • OR Associate’s degree with 16+ years of experience
  • OR High School Diploma/GED with 18+ years of experience
  • Experience in a regulated industrial environment (e.g., nuclear, energy, utilities)
  • Minimum 5 years of nuclear industry experience managing project activities or applying project management principles
  • Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, including outages and online work
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to guide teams and influence outcomes
  • Advanced project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Ability to apply technical specifications, codes, and regulatory standards
  • Experience with cost-benefit analysis for major maintenance or capital projects
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience, including system upgrades or replacements
  • PMP certification
  • Prior RO/SRO license or similar certification
  • Construction Management certification
  • Experience in maintenance, operations, or construction within nuclear environments
  • Work management and production coordination experience in plant operations
