Job DescriptionThe Muliplatform Producer works closely with correspondents to gather all editorial elements needed for stories, including social media newsgathering, research, securing interviews, and confirming information with government agencies and community organizations.
The Producer must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, adapt quickly to breaking news, and collaborate closely with editorial leadership and production teams.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a multiplatform newsroom and demonstrates strong knowledge of social media and digital storytelling. This role requires strong editorial judgment, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a solid understanding of national and international news, including breaking news coverage.
Responsibilities include requesting graphics and other visual elements that support storytelling and enhance the presentation of stories across platforms. The Multimedia Producer may also assist in writing scripts and editorial content for newscasts and digital coverage. This position requires a strong visual sense and the ability to identify compelling video, natural sound, and other elements that strengthen the narrative and overall impact of a story.
In addition, the Multiplatform Producer is responsible for booking guests on a daily basis for linear, streaming, and digital platforms. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including weekends, early mornings, and flexible hours to accommodate last-minute.
The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during breaking news coverage or special assignments.
