Summary

The New Restaurant Opening ("NRO") project coordinator is responsible for managing and supporting the successful opening of new restaurant locations. This role acts as a central liaison between internal departments, franchise partners/shareholders, construction teams, and external vendors, ensuring new units open on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with brand and operational standards.


Responsibilities

  • Track construction milestones and ensure timely completion of site development.
  • Serve as the point of contact between construction teams, franchisees, and the internal opening team.
  • Monitor project timelines, update schedules, and escalate delays or risks to leadership.
  • Ensure all permitting, inspections, and pre-opening compliance items are scheduled and completed.
  • Facilitate weekly or biweekly check-ins with cross-functional teams (Culinary, Training, Marketing, IT, HR, etc.).
  • Maintain status reports and distribute updates to stakeholders and executive team.
  • Manage transition checklists from construction handover to operations launch.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure all pre-opening tasks are completed.
  • Track deliverables such as uniforms, training materials, POS setup, onboarding plans, and menu rollouts.
  • Track and report all expenses and financial reports related to the opening phase.
  • Maintain effective communication with franchise partners and ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education And Experience: High School/Ged
  • Years Of Relevant Work Experience: 3+ Years
  • Bilingual: Mandarin Required
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office – to include excel and power point
  • Experience with problem solving – moderately complex situations
  • Experience documenting processes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or project coordination is a plus
