Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop secure network architectures for shipboard and shore-based C4I systems Support integration of communication systems, data networks, and sensor systems Integrate network components into existing and new C4I environments Diagnose and resolve complex network issues by systematically analyzing traffic and behavior across all layers of the OSI modelTroubleshoot connectivity, performance, and latency problems using a deep understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SRTP, and routing protocolsPerform packet-level analysis with tools like Wireshark to identify protocol anomalies and root causes of network failuresDevelop interface control documentation, network diagrams, and integration plansEvaluates performance metrics for each system/component in accordance with defined requirements.Document discrepancies and implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance standards Support secure data handling up to Secret classification levels Applies state-of-the-art techniques and industry best practices for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting technical solutionsPerforms related work as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.Supports the organizations overall culture, goals, quality standards, and leadership philosophy.Incorporates Cogito Innovations core values of Adaptability, Collaboration, and Efficiency in all activities and decisions.Upholds Cogito Innovations Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.Education, Competency and Other RequirementsBachelors degree in network engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.Journeyman Level: 3+ years of experience in network engineering Experience with DoD or military C4I systems strongly preferred Senior Level:10+ years of experienceExperience leading network design/integration efforts for complex systemsNetwork design (LAN/WAN, tactical networks, SATCOM, RF systems) Cisco/Juniper or similar enterprise networking technologies Network security (firewalls, encryption, IA controls) Systems integration in DoD environments Familiarity with: Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, Network Troubleshooting and Analysis toolsExperience integrating shipboard communications systems supporting voice, video, and data applicationsDemonstrated knowledge of proper handling and utilization of Government Furnished Information (GFI), including but not limited to Cable Block Diagrams, Cable Running Sheets, Cable Installation/Interconnection Drawings, and Installation Requirements DrawingsDemonstrated knowledge of military and commercial communications protocolsAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearanceMust be a U.S. Citizen Core Competencies Written & Oral Communication Continuous Development Integrity Critical Thinking/Problem Solving Customer Service Results Driven Decision Making BenefitsWe offer a highly competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 100% 401(k) matching (up to 6% of base salary), performance-based bonuses, and more.
