Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic National Preconstruction Manager (NPM) to lead and elevate our preconstruction function across the United States. This executive-level role is responsible for driving innovation, standardization, and excellence across all preconstruction activities—ensuring projects are positioned for success before breaking ground.


The NPM will serve as a key leader within the organization, shaping business strategy, mentoring high-performing teams, and delivering forward-thinking solutions that align with our core pillars: Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Cost, and Schedule.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing national preconstruction team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence
  • Coach and mentor team members through structured training, performance management, and career development initiatives
  • Build and sustain a disciplined, results-driven environment with a strong emphasis on ownership and continuous improvement
  • Partner with executive leadership to define and execute strategic business objectives

Preconstruction Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive preconstruction strategies, transitioning the organization from reactive execution to proactive planning
  • Oversee detailed scope development, cost estimating, and value engineering to ensure financial and operational success
  • Act as a technical advisor during bidding phases, ensuring high-risk and high-value projects are thoroughly vetted
  • Drive design coordination and risk mitigation through early-stage planning and stakeholder alignment
  • Utilize tools such as Procore and EasyBuild to maintain transparency, accountability, and performance tracking


Design Coordination & Value Engineering

  • Analyze complex construction documents to identify innovative means and methods that optimize project delivery
  • Lead value engineering initiatives, evaluating materials, sequencing, and construction approaches to maximize efficiency and client outcomes


Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Establish and manage KPIs across teams, ensuring consistent achievement of performance targets and ROI
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement action plans to address gaps
  • Monitor project pipelines, resource allocation, and reporting systems to ensure optimal utilization and outcomes
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on performance, safety, and operational metrics


Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Lead and support national safety initiatives in alignment with OSHA standards and company policies
  • Oversee safety planning during preconstruction, including logistics and risk identification
  • Ensure all teams maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in safety committees and lead continuous improvement in safety performance


Key Selection Criteria:

  • 10+ Years Relevant Construction, Engineering or Architectural experience in leading high performing teams
  • 10+ years experience in either multifamily construction, government construction, reconstruction work and/or custom residential/commercial work.
  • Maintain an active General Contracting License or relevant engineering qualifications
  • Proven experience of managing logistics for multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

  • Austin, TX: Relocate before starting work (Required)

  • Phoenix, AZ: Relocate before starting work (Required)


Salary: $150,000 USD per year
