Position Summary

Frank Balton Signs is seeking an experienced National Account Representative to manage communication, estimating, coordination, and project support for national sign company accounts. This role is responsible for maintaining timely, professional, and accurate communication with national sign companies, project managers, vendors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the local sign industry and a solid understanding of sign surveys, installations, equipment needs, and project coordination. Experience working with a national sign organization or national account projects may also be considered. This position requires someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and keep projects moving from quote and survey requests through purchase orders, sign shipments, and installation coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned national sign company accounts.
  • Manage back-and-forth communication related to quotes, site surveys, project updates, installation needs, and follow-up requests.
  • Ensure timely responses in accordance with customer SLA requirements.
  • Review survey information and brand books supplied by national sign companies to estimate installation pricing.
  • Estimate installation costs by evaluating labor needs, number of crews required, crane size, lift requirements, equipment needs, travel, site conditions, and other installation-related factors.
  • Communicate pricing, scope questions, and missing information clearly and promptly to national sign company project managers.
  • Communicate professionally by phone and email with national account project managers, vendors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Enter and manage purchase orders in the company’s ERP software, Square Coil.
  • Track incoming sign shipments from national sign companies and coordinate communication around receiving, delivery status, and installation readiness.
  • Maintain accurate project notes, documentation, timelines, estimates, and status updates within Square Coil.
  • Coordinate with vendors to order equipment, materials, rentals, cranes, lifts, or other items needed to complete installations.
  • Follow up consistently on open quotes, survey requests, missing information, shipment timelines, and project needs.
  • Prioritize tasks based on customer deadlines, SLA requirements, installation schedules, and project urgency.
  • Work closely with internal departments, including estimating, permitting, production, installation, and accounting as needed.
  • Help identify potential project delays, scope issues, site concerns, or equipment needs and communicate updates proactively.
  • Maintain a high level of organization across multiple active accounts and projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in the local sign industry is preferred.
  • Experience with sign installation estimating, surveys, equipment planning, and project coordination is highly desired.
  • Experience working with national sign companies or national account projects will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of sign project workflows, including quotes, surveys, permits, fabrication, shipping, installation, and closeout.
  • Ability to read and understand survey information, brand books, sign specifications, photos, site details, and installation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of installation factors such as crew size, crane requirements, lift needs, access issues, electrical considerations, and equipment rentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable making and receiving phone calls with project managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent shifting priorities.
  • Strong priority management, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately enter and track project information.
  • Comfortable using ERP, project management, or CRM software; experience with Square Coil is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected with the internal team.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-service focused.

Preferred Skills

  • Local sign company experience, especially in estimating, installation coordination, or national account support.
  • Familiarity with SLA-driven communication expectations.
  • Experience estimating sign installation labor and equipment needs.
  • Experience coordinating sign shipments and installation schedules.
  • Vendor coordination experience, including crane rentals, lift rentals, materials ordering, and installation support.
  • Ability to anticipate project needs and resolve communication gaps before they cause delays.

Work Environment

This position requires frequent communication by phone and email, strong computer skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Remote work may be considered for the right candidate, with required quarterly meetings at the company office.
