Myofunctional Therapist (Pediatric Setting) 1099 ContractorPosition OverviewKidology, Inc. is seeking a passionate and motivated Myofunctional Therapist to join our growing pediatric therapy team as an independent contractor (1099). This role focuses on supporting children with orofacial myofunctional disorders through specialized assessment and intervention within a multidisciplinary care model.We welcome candidates with a background as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with appropriate myofunctional training and certification.Full-time opportunities may be available for SLP candidates based on caseload and clinic needs.Key Responsibilities & Focus AreasOrofacial Assessment & Clinical ScopeEvaluations of tongue posture, oral resting posture, breathing patterns, and swallowing function will be completed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).RDAs with myofunctional certification will support therapy implementation under established treatment plans and appropriate clinical supervision.Therapeutic InterventionDevelop and implement individualized neuromuscular re-education programs to improve tongue, lip, and jaw strength and coordination.Support articulation challenges related to tongue thrust and assist in pediatric feeding development.CollaborationWork closely with orthodontists, ENTs, dentists, and internal therapy providers to support airway health and comprehensive care.Family EducationProvide guidance and training to caregivers to support carryover of therapeutic strategies at home.QualificationsEducation/LicensureActive Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license (preferred), ORRegistered Dental Assistant (RDA) or related clinical background with relevant experienceCertificationCertification in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (e.g., COM) or completion of a recognized training program strongly preferredSkillsStrong understanding of orofacial anatomy and airway healthExcellent communication and patient engagement skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary teamPosition DetailsEmployment Type: 1099 Independent ContractorSetting: Pediatric outpatient clinic / multidisciplinary therapy centerSchedule: Flexible, based on therapist availability and caseloadCompensation: RDAs (with myofunctional certification): $40$45/hourSpeech-Language Pathologists (SLPs): $65$67/hourFull-time SLP opportunities may be considered based on caseload availability and clinic growthWork EnvironmentKidology provides a collaborative, supportive environment focused on high-quality, child-centered care.
