This role includes regular interaction with municipal clients, project teams, developers, consultants, contractors, and public stakeholders. Attendance at evening municipal meetings, planning commissions, and public hearings is expected.

This role may involve field-based work, site visits, and operation of company vehicles or personal vehicles for business purposes. Position Summary / What You’ll Do


As a Municipal Project Manager with municipal client ownership responsibilities, you will serve as both a project leader and a municipal representative. You will manage municipal engineering projects while reviewing engineering plans prepared by outside firms to ensure compliance with municipal standards, ordinances, and regulatory requirements.


This role matters because municipalities rely on trusted technical advisors to help guide development decisions, maintain infrastructure integrity, and protect long-term community interests.



Responsibilities / Day-to-Day

  • Serve as the primary engineering representative for assigned municipalities, building trusted relationships with municipal officials, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Review engineering plans and development submissions prepared by external firms to ensure compliance with municipal standards, ordinances, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical recommendations to municipal leadership regarding proposed improvements, infrastructure planning, and development activities.
  • Manage municipal engineering and infrastructure projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Attend and present at municipal meetings, planning commissions, zoning hearings, and public forums as required.
  • Coordinate with developers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams to support project delivery and municipal objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, review letters, and engineering documentation related to development submissions, municipal infrastructure, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Identify project risks and support resolution strategies that align with municipal goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Support long-term municipal planning efforts, including infrastructure improvements, capital planning, utilities, and community development initiatives.


Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant AEC industry experience, including internships.
  • Minimum of 4 years of project management experience within the AEC industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with municipalities or public-sector clients.
  • Experience reviewing engineering plans, development submissions, or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of municipal ordinances, permitting processes, and land development practices.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with municipal officials and public stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, engineering documentation, and technical reporting.
  • Experience serving as a municipal engineer or municipal representative.
  • Experience presenting at public meetings or working directly with planning commissions or zoning boards.
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania municipal processes and regulatory frameworks.


Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
