Maintenance Technician | Blythewood, SC
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains advanced production and facility equipment to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role focuses on preventative and predictive maintenance, accurate documentation in a computerized maintenance system, and close collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced production and facility equipment to support smooth and reliable manufacturing operations.
- Drive a zero-incident safety culture by following all safety rules, immediately correcting unsafe conditions, and actively participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and preventive measures.
- Participate in monthly safety initiatives and consistently promote safe work practices in all maintenance activities.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, including inspecting, testing, and operating equipment to reduce downtime and improve machine reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, reports, and documentation in required systems to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Enter, manage, and complete work orders in the Advanced Maintenance Management System (AMMS) or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Request, retrieve, and maintain stockroom spare parts, assist with min/max inventory determinations, and return unused parts correctly to both the system and the physical stockroom.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment and recommend improvements to PM programs, including optimizing frequencies, updating job time estimates, and refining procedures and checklists.
- Partner with Process Engineers, the Maintenance Team, and Machine Operators to perform root cause analysis on equipment issues and develop effective preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process changes by providing technical input and performing related maintenance tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement work groups and support production and maintenance trials to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Diagnose causes of equipment malfunctions and correct them, including troubleshooting through programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable.
- Perform instrumentation calibrations and ensure equipment operates within specified tolerances.
- Repair, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems, including chillers.
- Perform equipment rebuilds and a variety of maintenance tasks such as minor welding, burning, brazing, fabrication, sheet metal work, pipe fitting, lubrication, painting, electrical testing and measuring, conduit installation, and soldering.
- Download PLC programs and perform PLC troubleshooting as needed in support of engineering.
- Operate a forklift when required to move materials, equipment, or components safely within the facility.
- Adhere to all housekeeping standards to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work any assigned shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to support production and maintenance needs.

- Day Shift 223 | 6:45 AM - 7:00 AM
- Night Shift 223 | 6:45 PM - 7:00 PM

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $68640.00/yr.
