JOB OBJECTIVE: The MSW Intern assigned to the LRPD Community Response Team will provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, short-term case management, and resource linkage services to individuals and families encountered during law enforcement responses. The intern will work alongside sworn officers and social workers to address behavioral health concerns, substance use issues, domestic violence, homelessness, and other social service needs, with the goal of enhancing community safety and reducing unnecessary criminal justice involvement.

Current enrollment in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program at an accredited institution.
Successful completion of foundation-level coursework (preferred for advanced placement students).
Minimum 2.5 GPA (or as required by university partnership agreement).
Minimum 21 years of age (preferred due to field response requirements).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Additional Requirements
Ability to pass a background investigation in accordance with department standards.
Obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) security and privacy certification prior to exposure to criminal justice information.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings or limited weekend availability.
Ability to operate in dynamic, potentially high-stress field environments.
