Job Title: Model Finisher
Job Description

The Model Finisher is primarily responsible for the safe cleaning and finishing of additive manufactured parts in accordance with procedures and customer specifications, while identifying non-conformances in parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform finishing processes for additive manufactured parts, including hand finishing, part cleaning, measuring, sanding, grit blasting, polishing, and build breakouts.
  • Utilize tools such as calipers, sandpaper, tweezers, clippers, air guns, dremels, drills, and soldering rods.
  • Use computer workstations to review order and part information and enter related information.
  • Follow and complete all applicable checklists.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Clean and maintain machinery and tools.
  • Assist in the removal and disposal of contaminated materials.
  • Work independently within the assigned area.
  • Identify non-conformance parts and collaborate with leads, quality inspectors, and production managers regarding order or part quality issues.
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and supply levels.
  • Observe and follow all safety and quality policies and procedures, including use of PPE.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Experience in deburring, sanding, blasting, and finish work.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong service and quality focus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Craft-oriented experience, such as jewelry making or woodworking, is advantageous.
  • Experience with measuring tools and hand/power tools is beneficial.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

The role requires adherence to safety and quality policies, including the use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.

This is a Contract position based out of Morrisville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
