Job Description

The Mobile Maintenance Technician operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across multiple assigned facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. This role focuses on maximizing equipment life expectancy, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and timely repairs, and maintaining both interior and exterior building components to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to achieve efficient and reliable performance.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, providing timely and effective solutions to restore proper operation.
  • Conduct general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, and other facility-related repairs as needed.
  • Perform inspections and repairs to interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and maintenance requests at retail and light commercial locations within the assigned travel radius.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while interacting with clients on-site and over the phone.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and services completed.
  • Monitor equipment performance and anticipate necessary repairs by keeping records of past operating experiences and maintenance history.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained in a safe, energy-efficient manner, adhering to applicable standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate scheduling of maintenance and repair work to minimize disruption to client operations.
  • Remain accessible for client contact after hours and on weekends to respond to inquiries and arrange follow-up appointments as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing HVAC system issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Practical experience with plumbing maintenance and repairs in commercial or retail facilities.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and components, including basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ability to perform building maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, and general facility upkeep.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining lighting systems, including replacement and repair of fixtures.
  • Familiarity with boilers and related mechanical equipment used in building operations.
  • Background in facility maintenance or building maintenance with a focus on service and repair.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for all work performed.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
  • Capability to respond to service calls and emergencies in a timely and organized manner.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned service radius.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
