Millwright – Industrial Maintenance

Location: Portland, OR

Pay Rate: $37.87 per hour

Shift: 12‑Hour Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Schedule: Rotating 3/4 Schedule

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Millwright to support industrial maintenance operations at a shingle manufacturing facility. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established and stable company offering excellent long-term career potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment used in a shingle mill
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure equipment reliability
• Weld and fabricate components as needed
• Follow all safety protocols and maintenance best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment

Shift & Schedule Details

• 12‑hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Rotating 3-on / 4-off / 4-on / 3-off schedule

Example Rotation:

• Monday–Tuesday: On
• Wednesday–Thursday: Off
• Friday–Sunday: On
• Following Week:
  • Monday–Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday–Thursday: On
  • Friday–Sunday: Off

You will work 84 hours over a two-week period, with 28 hours paid at overtime.

Overtime Pay:

• Time and a half after 10 hours in a day
• Time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a week

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Dusty and dirty conditions typical of shingle production
• Heavy machinery; noise levels vary by area
• PPE required: steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection
