Job Description

We are seeking a skilled millwright to play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty fan rotors and assemblies. These components are vital to large industrial applications and require precise assembly, adherence to engineering specifications, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Execute precise assembly of heavy-duty fan rotors, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on fans and associated equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Safely rig heavy equipment up to 30 tons and operate overhead cranes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to fans and auxiliary equipment, implementing effective repairs.
  • Utilize advanced alignment techniques and tools to ensure accurate positioning of fan components, bearings, and drive systems.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and service reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams to enhance fan performance, reliability, and maintenance practices.
  • Mentor apprentices within the team, fostering their growth and development.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in assembling and maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rigging.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes.

  • Strong vocational education and apprenticeship
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Precision craftsmanship and hands-on experience.

Work Environment

Work a 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30/3:00 pm in a small, laid-back job shop environment. Be prepared for a busy atmosphere with parts needing fabrication, requiring a self-starter attitude.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AKRON, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
