Will take skilled Welders from an education (Must be able to pass a mig weld test and overhead weld test)

Job Description

This role involves performing high-quality MIG and Stick welding on steel components by accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols. You will work with a range of material thicknesses, set up welding equipment, and complete welds that meet production and quality standards in a specialized pavement preservation products manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine welding requirements and specifications.
  • Perform MIG and Stick welding on steel materials ranging from 20-gauge to 5/8 inch thickness.
  • Set up MIG welding machines after they are zeroed out, including adjusting settings to match material type and thickness.
  • Complete a basic MIG flat welding test to demonstrate proficiency and consistency in weld quality.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance, and make adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Measure and verify dimensions using a tape measure to ensure components meet specified tolerances.
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety guidelines while working with welding equipment and materials.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-train in other departments as needed to support production demands.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG welding on steel materials.
  • Proficiency in Stick welding on steel materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to verify dimensions.
  • Capability to set up MIG welding machines after initial zeroing.
  • Ability to pass a basic MIG flat welding test.
  • Entry-level candidates with formal welding schooling are acceptable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Formal training or schooling in welding or a related trade.
  • Experience working with steel thicknesses from 20-gauge to 5/8 inch.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment focused on pavement preservation products and related equipment.
  • Willingness to cross-train and learn multiple trades within the facility.

Work Environment

The role is based in a modern manufacturing environment focused on producing packaged pavement preservation products for asphalt and concrete, including hot-applied crack sealants, silicone joint sealants, hot-applied mastics, and cold-mix for pavement surface patching and repair. The company also designs and manufactures application equipment such as melter/applicators, crack preparation equipment, spray injection patching equipment, and patchers for hot-applied mastics and sealcoat applicators. Products are manufactured in the USA across multiple locations, with equipment manufacturing operations in Chandler, Arizona. You will work around industrial welding and fabrication equipment in a production setting, following standard safety practices and wearing appropriate protective gear suitable for a welding and manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
