A fast-growing, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate (3+ years) to join its Chicago-based team. This is an opportunity to do high-level, sophisticated work typically found at AmLaw firms - without the rigid billable structure.

The Work
You’ll handle a mix of litigation, counseling, and transactional support, including:
- Employment litigation (single-plaintiff matters before EEOC/IDHR, state & federal court)
- Day-to-day counseling on workplace issues and compliance (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, etc.)
- Drafting employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements
- Advising on employee handbooks and policies
- Supporting M&A transactions as the labor & employment specialist
- (Bonus) Exposure to collective/class actions or traditional labor matters
What They’re Looking For
- 3+ years of labor & employment experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
- Illinois license preferred (or ability to waive in)
- Chicago-area candidates prioritized
Compensation
- Base Salary: $225,000 – $300,000
- (commensurate with experience and billable hour preference)
- Bonus: Competitive annual bonus structure with bonuses ranging up to 6 figures +
