A fast-growing, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate (3+ years) to join its Chicago-based team. This is an opportunity to do high-level, sophisticated work typically found at AmLaw firms - without the rigid billable structure.

The Work

You’ll handle a mix of litigation, counseling, and transactional support, including:

  • Employment litigation (single-plaintiff matters before EEOC/IDHR, state & federal court)
  • Day-to-day counseling on workplace issues and compliance (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Drafting employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements
  • Advising on employee handbooks and policies
  • Supporting M&A transactions as the labor & employment specialist
  • (Bonus) Exposure to collective/class actions or traditional labor matters


What They’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of labor & employment experience
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Illinois license preferred (or ability to waive in)
  • Chicago-area candidates prioritized


Compensation

  • Base Salary: $225,000 – $300,000
  • (commensurate with experience and billable hour preference)
  • Bonus: Competitive annual bonus structure with bonuses ranging up to 6 figures +
