Position Summary:

Responsible for the general direction of the daily operations for services provided by the departments of Imaging Services.

Responsibilities

  • Functions in both a technical and support capacity when needed as defined by workload, staffing and customer needs.
  • Responsible for technical aspect of radiation safety as defined by Radioactive material License, Radiation Safety Officer and/or radiation physicist. Ensure active member of the Radiation Safety Committee.
  • Consultation with Medical Director regarding issues of protocol, technical process improvement and quality control.
  • Ensures appropriate preventative maintenance services and quality control testing are provided to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Ensures the timeliness and integrity of exam performance to include charges, interpretation, transcription, and report delivery both on and off campus.
  • Responsible for support functions associated with Imaging Services to include: clerical, transcription, and transportation.
  • Promote cultural change to develop and support the team approach to deliver patient care in the Clinical division.
  • Facilitate development of success measures, to include leadership, facilitator and team member implementation of long and short-term goals for department teams.
  • Develop, review and update department specific policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Provide personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interviewing and orientation in conjunction with the Director or VP.
  • Implement and assess individual/team performance appraisal and career ladder.
  • Assures daily operations are performed to include: staffing, interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges, inventory.
  • Assess capital equipment/supply needs and make recommendations in collaboration with the Director or VP.
  • Acts as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution.
  • Acts as the primary contact of vendors for product evaluation and recommendation.
  • Determine and coordinate daily staffing ratios bases on workload and staff.
  • Participates in technical and philosophical growth and development.
  • Coordinates and affirms accuracy of department record keeping.
  • Collaborates with the Director to identify learning needs of staff, ensures participation and evaluation clinical competency.
  • Participates in development and implementation of education and in-service programs for staff, students and other departments.
  • Collaborates with others to determine product standardization as needed.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Graduate of a JRCERT School of Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Ultrasound Technology; bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Four (4) years line and two (2) years leadership experience in diagnostic radiology services or equivalent combination of education/leadership experience.

Licensure Requirement:

Any or all of the following: ARRT, CNMT, ARDMS, ARMRIT, RDCS. CPR required.
