Summary:

This role supervises, directs and provides management to a team of construction project managers in organizing and directing designated major capital construction projects and strategic and business opportunities in support of the mission, vision and goals of the Planning, Design & Construction and Real Estate Division. The Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of the construction portfolio, renovation, and facility improvement projects. The Manager of Capital Project Mgmt. leads all construction project support activities and staff in the execution of major capital projects and selecting the appropriate contractors for the associated scope of work. The Manager leads the development and application of project controls and all contracting requirements. The Manager works with internal and external stakeholders to assure the efficient execution of projects and vendor contracts. The Manager is responsible for developing relations with clients, vendors and governmental agencies relating to the communication and coordination of complex, multi-phased projects. Manager manages projects and staff to ensure timely and efficient execution.

Responsibilities:

- Directs staff to assure they are meeting individual and group goals and lead project teams toward identified outcomes. Direct project support team and all personnel resources necessary for the entire program. Monitor progress of all projects. Lead, manage, develop, mentor, provide leadership and monitor the Project Team in terms of evaluating upcoming opportunities, forecasting projects, scheduling, providing design intent and standards surrounding all design components.

- Manage staff resources to ensure proper staffing availability and resource loading are appropriate for each SPM / PM / Coordinator roles and responsibilities.

- Facilitate the execution of important vendor contracts in consultation with F&RE, Supply Chain, Legal and other stakeholders.Manage the overall contracting process.

- Apply defined project controls to identify, communicate and manage project scope, goals, project plan and project process / performance.

- Effectively directs the project controls of complex processes. Identify barriers to project success; negotiate through barriers with major stakeholders to keep progress on track. Assist with defining and documenting project objectives and strategic approach.

- Responsible for project financial development and tracking of existing overall program. Identify and recommend solutions for capital and expense projects both short and long term.

- Communicate frequently with Senior Leadership through presentations, verbal communications and written correspondence. Other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 7 years of related experience, project management or design experience; proven track of managing multiple projects Required

At least 5 years of hospital and/or multi facility management experience Preferred

EDUCATION

Four-year bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other pertinent field experience Required

Graduate or professional work or an advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

ASHE Certified HealthCare Construction Preferred

ASHE Certified HealthCare Facilities Manager Preferred

Professional Engineer Preferred
