Position SummaryThis position is responsible for supporting a variety of Metallurgical services including metallographic and physical testing, product / process control testing and development, failure analysis, and problem solving. The incumbent also provides leadership and support for assigned programs and projects to ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal engineering standards, and AS9100 quality system requirements in a custom precision manufacturing facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development (if applicable)
• Team leadership responsibilities: While not responsible for direct reports, is expected to lead various projects and teams within the heat treat department and met lab.
• Coaching and development expectations: Expected to guide professional development of heat treat operators and met lab technicians.
• Customer interaction scope: Represents factory in areas of expertise.
• Key internal partners: engineering and quality and production.
• Collaboration expectations: Work in a multi-faceted interdepartmental environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science or similar Engineering discipline with one to three (1-3) years of manufacturing experience required. Significant prior work experience may be considered in lieu of advanced academic requirements.
