  • Compensation: $23.95 per hour
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, hours include two weekends a month. Occasional Sunday and events.

What is the work?

Merchandising

  • Creating a visually appealing store of incoming merchandise to promote an exceptional shopping experience for our customers
  • Inventory Management: Filling Racks, shelves, and displays, rotating products
  • Visual Merchandising: Setting up displays, implementing merchandise layouts
  • Ensuring shelves are clean, organized, and properly labeled with pricing

Volunteer Management

  • Welcome, support and direct volunteer staff throughout the day, filling in critical positions when needed
  • Coach and empower volunteers in working with a diverse community of clients, customers, donors, and volunteers
  • Support the transition of the volunteer teams from one shift to the next including welcome shift trainings, and team meetings
  • Support volunteer retention by welcoming and training new volunteers and groups

Store Operations

  • Maintain a welcoming and positive experience that is inviting for all clients, volunteers, customers, and donors
  • Full understanding of the Point-of-Sale system and support volunteers in troubleshooting technology problems as they emerge
  • Fill in at cashier position when needed
  • Assisting with the web-store day-to-day operations
  • Communicate important information to Store Manager or other staff that may impact their work

Requirements

Required Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience working in a retail or customer service setting
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to juggle multiple priorities in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Timely and dependable
  • Superior interpersonal skills - ability to work with a variety of people and build trusting relationships
  • Reliable, strong execution and follow through
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Canva
  • Ability to understand and learn database (Point of Sale) programs quickly
  • Ability to learn to operate electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and 2-wheel dolly (training provided, experience not required)
