Job Title: Lead Electrical Superintendent (Data Center Projects)
Job Description

The Lead Electrical Superintendent oversees electrical construction activities for large-scale data center projects across multiple U.S. locations. This role focuses on managing field operations, coordinating schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and leveraging strong computer skills to track progress and documentation. The position requires extensive experience in electrical construction and data centers, as well as the ability to lead teams and travel between project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand the project scope, schedule, and overall objectives for each assigned data center project.
  • Assist in maintaining the project schedule on a daily basis using Touchplan or similar planning tools.
  • Collaborate with the Project Scheduler and Project Manager to develop and update progress schedules, including detailed two-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate and timely daily logs using Procore or equivalent construction management software.
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling all required inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Prepare agendas and materials for regular construction meetings to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Enforce site safety policies and procedures, including security and visitor access protocols, to maintain a safe and controlled work environment.
  • Monitor and enforce quality standards and workmanship for all electrical and MEP-related installations and finished products.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Site Utilization Plan to optimize the layout, logistics, and flow of materials and personnel on site.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date phone logs and communication records related to project activities.
  • Prepare pre-punch list items and support the punch list process to ensure timely and complete project closeout.
  • Work closely with the Project Site Engineer to upload and maintain all pertinent project information and documentation in Procore.
  • Provide site safety training to team members and enforce safety compliance on the project site.
  • Conduct weekly tool box talks to reinforce safety practices, procedures, and lessons learned.
  • Secure and manage all required hot work permits and ensure proper safety measures are in place for hot work activities.
  • Lead and supervise on-site teams, including subcontractors, to ensure work progresses according to plan, quality, and safety standards.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical and MEP issues that arise during construction and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and MEP trades, including HVAC and CRAH units, to ensure integrated and efficient installation.
  • Support commissioning activities for electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment in data center environments.
Essential Skills
  • 7–10 years of experience in electrical construction, commercial construction, or related field roles.
  • Strong background in electrical systems, including switchgear, power distribution, and substations.
  • Experience working on data center projects and familiarity with data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and supervising construction activities on active job sites.
  • Very strong computer skills, including proficiency with construction management software such as Procore.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction schedules and work effectively with scheduling tools such as Touchplan.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in construction supervision and project management support in the field.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA requirements and a strong safety mindset.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and resolving issues during construction and commissioning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Electrical background or formal training in the electrical field is preferred.
  • Experience as a site supervisor or in a construction management role is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with MEP systems and MEP engineering concepts, including HVAC and CRAH units.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and their integration with electrical and data center infrastructure.
  • background in data center environments is beneficial but not strictly required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between project sites is helpful and strongly preferred.
  • Strong safety attitude with a commitment to enforcing safety compliance and leading safety discussions.
  • Experience with commissioning activities for UPS systems, switchgear, and other critical power components.
  • Ability to coordinate inspections and interface with inspectors and other external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation, logging, and maintaining accurate records in digital platforms.
Work Environment

This role is fully site-based and requires regular travel between multiple data center project locations, including Northern Virginia, Dallas (TX), Atlanta (GA), Las Vegas, Chicago, and Mississippi. The work takes place on active construction sites, involving close coordination with electrical, mechanical, and MEP trades and frequent use of tools such as Procore for documentation and Touchplan for scheduling. The position involves hands-on oversight of field activities, safety enforcement, and quality control in a fast-paced environment where critical power and data center infrastructure are being installed and commissioned. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
