New York City, NY – MEP Project Manager
Salary: $120,000 - $165,000
We are partnering with a leading construction consultancy to appoint an experienced MEP Project Manager in New York City. This role will focus on the delivery of complex building systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional to take ownership of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems from design coordination through construction and commissioning.
Position Overview
The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of MEP delivery, ensuring systems are designed, coordinated, and installed in line with project requirements, budget, and schedule.
Acting as a key liaison between clients, design teams, and contractors, you will play a critical role in ensuring technical alignment, constructability, and successful integration of building systems throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage MEP scope from design development through construction and commissioning
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors on all MEP-related matters
- Review design documents, specifications, and drawings for completeness and constructability
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance related to MEP systems
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor coordination, and installation activities
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to MEP packages
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes
- Identify risks and provide solutions to maintain project objectives
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a well-rounded MEP professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to manage complex building systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related field)
- Proven experience managing MEP scopes on commercial or large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building systems integration
- Experience working in a consultancy, contractor, or client-side environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
