Requirements:

  • Ohio license in Social Work (LSW) or Counseling (LPC) required, in addition to the education required to obtain each license (Bachelors or Masters in Social Work | Masters in Counseling). Independent license preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with and riding horses, including a fundamental understanding of behaviors and psyche of horses, including, but not limited to grooming, saddling and riding in the Western and/or English discipline(s).
  • General understanding of barn management and general equine health is strongly preferred.
  • Natural Lifemanship certification strongly preferred.
  • Must be physically able to ride and handle horses weighing up to 2000 pounds, and of various sizes.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds regularly and more, on occasion.

Responsibilities:

  • TEAM first.
  • Provide equine-assisted and non-equine-assisted mental health services in individual or group settings.
  • Facilitate mental health assessments, providing accurate diagnoses.
  • Complete treatment plans in collaboration with client.
  • Submit all clinical documentation, notes, and paperwork according to agency standards/requirements - typically, no less than weekly.
  • Participate in peer review and other quality-improvement activities, such as supervision.
  • Ensure personal productivity/expectations standards are met.

This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all of the following: background checks (fingerprints required), drug test, reference checks, Department of Justice National sex offender search, Ohio (and other states of residence) Alleged Perpetrator Search, as well as other checks as required by our licensing agency.



Candidates for most jobs must be 21 or older to apply. References, background checks, and drug screenings will be completed on all potential candidates. Direct care positions will require a pre-employment physical, as required by our licensing agency. Must be able to commute reliably for all on-site positions.
