ENGAGEMENT OVERVIEW
The Denver Metro Association of Realtors® (DMAR) is seeking an experienced sales professional to serve as an independent Membership Development Consultant. This engagement focuses on growing and strengthening DMAR’s membership base through outreach, recruitment, and industry partner relationship development. This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not an employment position.
ENGAGEMENT STRUCTURE & COMPENSATION
Independent Contractor Engagement
Initial Term: 12 months, renewable upon mutual agreement
Compensation Structure:
- Monthly Consulting Retainer: $32 / hour – 30 hours per week
- Performance-Based Commission on new member conversions, renewals, and industry partner agreements
- Bonus program for recruiting 10+ members per month
- Compensation is paid pursuant to an independent contractor agreement.
The Consultant is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes and business expenses. This engagement does not include employee benefits.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The Consultant will work with Director of Membership to determine appropriate sales strategies and outreach methods to achieve agreed-upon growth objectives. Services may include:
Realtor® Member Engagement:
- Outreach to real estate professionals regarding DMAR membership opportunities
- Re-engagement of former primary DMAR members
- Recruitment of non-affiliated real estate professionals
- Identification of new membership development opportunities
- Providing market feedback and sales observations
Industry Partner Engagement:
- Outreach to potential industry partners serving the real estate community
- Presentation of partnership and sponsorship opportunities
- Identifying trends affecting recruitment and retention
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- DMAR and the Consultant will mutually agree upon performance benchmarks at the outset of the engagement.
- The Consultant will provide periodic summary updates on sales activity and results as outlined in the independent contractor agreement.
- The Consultant retains discretion over scheduling, outreach methods, and workflow management and will work 25 – 30 hours per week, between 8am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
- Weekly check-ins will be scheduled with Director of Member Services to monitor engagement and strategize ongoing steps.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Remote engagement - consultant determines daily work schedule, ensuring minimum weekly hours are met
- Consultant provides their own workspace and business equipment
- Access to DMAR CRM will be limited – data will be shared at DMAR discretion and will be provided to Consultant by Membership Team as needed. Google Docs may be used to share / collect information.
- Consultant will include feedback and notes within shared spreadsheet for DMAR Membership team to access and coordinate with Consultant on.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated success in sales, partnership development, or business development
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working independently and managing a sales pipeline
- Familiarity with CRM systems and shared work databases, including Google Docs.
Preferred:
- Experience in association membership sales or real estate industry
- Knowledge of REALTOR® associations and systems
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS
This engagement is structured as an independent contractor relationship. Nothing in this posting or resulting agreement shall be construed as creating an employer-employee relationship.
The Consultant:
- Will not be eligible for DMAR employee benefits
- Will not participate in employee retirement, insurance, or paid leave programs
- Is responsible for all applicable taxes and business expenses
- Maintains control over how services are delivered
