JOB SUMMARY

This position will be under the direct supervision of the MEIHSS Admin Manager. This position will assist the MEIHSS Admin Manager with oversight of the community health representatives and training of home health aides. This position will be responsible for adequately staffing all CHR’s to accommodate all patient requests.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct oversight of other community health representatives and aspects of home health aide training.Assist with continuous performance appraisals and make recommendations, as needed. Assists with completion of annual performance appraisals.Train all new community health representatives and home health aide staff.Assist with regular review of existing policies and procedures that directly affect community health staff and make recommendations for change/updates as appropriate.Oversees all community health supplies and equipment.Manages all purchase orders needed by the community health staff.Assists MEIHSS Admin Manager with investigating any patient complaints as it relates to CHR’s and Home Health Aides.Serve as a representative for the MIT Emergency Management Committee.Medication Delivery coordination, Medical Alert and lock box coordinationOther duties as assignedBecause of the Tribe’s commitment to community service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties as may be required from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required: High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience as a community health representative. A valid Washington state driver’s license. A valid CPR/First Aid certification (obtain within 30 days of hire date).

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

Knowledge: general office policies, principles and practices, rules, health and social services and resources, excellent problem solving and client interviewing skills, able to manage high stress environment, conflict resolution techniques, operation of standard office equipment that may include typewriter, personal computer, copier, fax machines and multi-line telephone, program specific information, terminology and/or equipment, principles and practices of supervision.

Skills: Keyboarding (speed required may vary according to position assignment), analysis and problem solving, oral and written communication, organization and time management, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive matters, customer service ¾ in person and via telephone (discretion, patience, etiquette, professionalism), interpersonal and human relations, following oral and written instructions, working independently, prioritizing workload and adapting to changes in work load demands, providing training, following through on assignments as directed, conducting research on a specific work assignment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stand; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

Licenses or Certifications Required

Valid Washington Driver’s License, Valid CPR/First Aid Certification (obtain within 30 days of hire date) and CNA.
