MedSurg Clinical Supervisor

The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor identifies education needs of individual staff members and/or the Med-Surg unit as a whole and plans and implements educational offerings.

They conducts performance reviews and collaborates with the Director to improve the overall performance of the Med-Surg department.

The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor oversees the orientation and precepteeships of new employees.

Equipment:

EPIC charting, Pyxis medication system, Vocera, Shift Wizard scheduling, etc.

Required skills and minimum years of experience:

• 3 years of Med Surg Nursing experience.
• 1 year of Nursing Leadership experience.
• Proficient acute care nursing knowledge & skills.
• Proficient management of patients in a Med Surg setting.

Specific Licensures and certifications:

• State of Alaska RN license
• BLSP from AHA
• ACLS & PALS from AHA

Bed Size:

38 beds on the Med Surg unit and 10 beds in the ECU

Shift requirements:

M-F, Some variability
