We are seeking a full-time Medical Technologist (80 hours/ pay period).


What You'll Do

The Medical Technologist works independently and in cooperation with laboratory staff to perform duties essential to the daily operation of the CCAY clinical laboratory in its aim to provide timely and accurate patient results to clinical staff.

  • Verifies lab testing orders and processes orders according to CCAY lab policy.
  • Obtains blood for lab analysis via venipuncture.
  • Performs all routine testing offered in CCAY clinical laboratory.
  • Performs quality control and instrument maintenance as required.
  • Performs and assists in troubleshooting issues with laboratory instruments and computer systems.
  • Participates in proficiency surveys as assigned.
  • Navigates laboratory-associated computer systems to retrieve and enter data.
  • Maintains and reviews laboratory records, statistics, logs, and files.
  • Assesses inventory levels and records items necessary to be ordered by the lab manager.
  • Receives and unpacks supplies upon delivery.
  • Monitors and helps to maintain the interface between LIS and laboratory components of the EMR.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Complies with all practice policies and procedures, including CCAY’s Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related science
  • Certified by National Certifying Agency (ASCP, CLS, etc.), must be maintained

Essential Job-related Experience

  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience as a Medical Technologist
