Medical Surgical Technician-Full time - Nephrology

Requirements:

Completion of a nursing assistant training course preferred (CNA Cert.) or one (1) plus years of experience in a clinical setting. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Initiates and maintains the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient's environment, Understands and recognizes appropriate storage and safety of medications (such as large volume IV's, alcohol, saline, medications in prepackaged kits). 
  2. Using Service Excellence Standards conducts Hourly Rounds. 
  3. Promotes and fosters an environment of comfort and safety for patients and visitors. 
  4. Performs or assists with performing nutritional/ hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, H20 or snacks).
  5. Collects and records patient related data through the performance of direct care tasks, identifies and communicates appropriate patient data to members of the interdisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in Evidence Based tasks. 
  7. Utilizes appropriate health and safety to protect both the patient and staff.
  8. Performs general transportation and courier duties as directed. 


Qualifications:

HS diploma preferred/Equivalent from an accredited school 

 

 

STAFF NURSE:

Responsibilities:

  1. Job responsibilities include those listed in the competency document but are not limited to assessing the needs of the patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data while also providing appropriate age specific nursing interventions which are consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice. 
  2. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
  3. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
  4. Utilizes standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
  5. Contributes to the overall performance of the department through precepting and mentoring novice employees.
  6. Contributes to the department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved Evidence Based Practices.
  7. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings.
  8. Will float to assist in other like units as needed.
  9. Performs all other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

    Basic Life Support (AHA Certification only)
    Registered Nurse
