Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - IU Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - IU Health.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - IU Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - IU Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Specialty experience of 3 or 4 on the scale in either ortho and neuro. - 1st time travelers may be considered with >2 years experience

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Charge nurse experience preferred. - Willingness to function as a preceptor preferred but not required.

Required Credentials: - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: - IN residents are considered local; locals are not accepted for this MS position. - References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. - Block scheduling is only permitted if the traveler is agreeable to working Friday-Sunday.

Unit Details: - Teaching facility; travelers may be expected to precept and/or have students shadow them while on assignment. - Ortho/trauma med-surg unit. - About 20% of the population is ortho, including scheduled hip and knee surgeries with patients typically on the unit for 24-48 hours. - The remaining population is trauma, including motor vehicle accidents, shootings, stabbings, and falls. - Patients may come from emergent surgery or ICU with many drains and tubes. - High-acuity, fast-paced unit.

Shift & Scheduling: - Must be flexible with weekend requirements based on unit needs. - Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract.

Floating Requirements: - May float to different levels of care including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU at both University and Methodist Hospitals; resources will be provided if needed.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
