Job Title: Onsite Medical Representative (Medical Representative, MO)Job DescriptionThe Onsite Medical Representative supports the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team by providing first aid, health guidance, and wellness advocacy for employees in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role works closely with WHS leadership to promote a safe and healthy workplace, manage occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, and support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs. The Onsite Medical Representative independently assesses and administers first aid, coordinates care with external medical providers, participates in safety and case management meetings, and helps drive a proactive safety culture across the site.
Responsibilities
- Independently assess, administer, and document first aid care for employees with occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses.
- Provide appropriate referrals to outside medical providers when additional care is needed.
- Minimize the risk of injury by promoting awareness, education, and proactive engagement with employees on health, safety, and wellness topics.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to employees.
- Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
- Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Regularly engage with employees and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits and safe body mechanics.
- Support safety operations onsite and function as an integral member of the WHS team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medical work area and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is available and replenished as needed.
- Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
- Maintain current first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support (BLS) credentials as required.
- Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with site procedures.
- Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and assist with emergency response efforts at the site.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly associate safety committee meetings.
- Greet and engage with new hires during site orientation and through daily one-on-one interactions to promote safety and wellness.
- Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to support employee recovery and return-to-work plans.
- Learn and apply OSHA regulations, risk assessment, and analysis related to workplace health and safety.
- Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, as required by operational needs.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care (ECC) provider.
- Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
- Ability to obtain an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 3 weeks of start date if not already held.
- Ability to independently assess injuries and illnesses and provide appropriate first aid within scope of practice.
- Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate medical and activity records.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with employees and leadership at all levels.
- Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Comfort working in an industrial environment with variable noise levels, temperatures, and work areas, including stairs and loading areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in an industrial wellness or occupational health program.
- Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on proper body mechanics.
- Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes.
- Proficiency in digital record systems for medical or safety documentation.
- Recent experience (within the last year) in the military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force).
Work EnvironmentThis role is based onsite in an industrial operations facility and is part of the Workplace Health & Safety team. The standard shift runs Sunday to Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the expectation of flexibility to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed. The position requires standing and walking for up to 12 hours per shift and frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and stair climbing. The work environment includes variable noise levels and exposure to changing temperatures and weather conditions, particularly in areas such as outside loading departments. The Onsite Medical Representative works in a dedicated medical space that must be kept clean, organized, and well-stocked, and uses digital systems and standard office software to document care and complete reports.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
