Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Laboratory Technologist - Team Leader (Chemistry/Hematology) to support our client’s facility at Charlotte, NC 28208. Job Overview
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing, and maintaining compliance with quality and accreditation standards. The Team Leader will also provide guidance, training, and technical support to laboratory staff while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Serve as a resource and role model for laboratory staff by providing training, orientation, and day-to-day work direction.
- Assign and monitor workload to ensure timely and accurate completion of laboratory testing.
- Assist with staffing coordination, staff development, and resolution of employee concerns.
- Support recruitment activities including interviewing and onboarding new team members.
Laboratory Operations
- Perform laboratory testing and technical duties within the Chemistry/Hematology section.
- Monitor test accuracy, instrument performance, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
- Conduct internal and external proficiency testing in accordance with laboratory standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards including CAP, AABB, and TJC.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
- Review test results and processes to ensure accuracy before reporting to medical records.
- Assist with development, review, and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
Training & Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance to Medical Laboratory Technologists, Technicians, and support staff.
- Assist with development of education and training programs for staff and students.
- Maintain clear communication with laboratory leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
Certification
- One of the following certifications required:
- Medical Technologist (MT) – ASCP
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – ASCP BOC
- Medical Technologist (MT) – AMT
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage workflow and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).

- Shift: Evening Shift | Friday – Tuesday | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM | 40 hours/week
- Pay Range: $30 – $50/hour (based on experience)
