Medical Director

Job title: Medical Director (Psychiatry and Neurology)

Location: Chester IL.

Shift: Standard day shift (M-F) 40 hours a week

Specialty: Psychiatry and Neurology

Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Requires a valid State of Illinois Medical License,
2. DEA, IL.
3. controlled substance license
4. Requires American Board Certification in the job-related medical specialty of psychiatry.
5. Requires three (3) years of medical administrative experience directing, planning, and evaluating a medical/clinical program.
6. Experience working with psychiatric/mental health patients.

Duties include:

• Serves as facility expert on mental health laws, regulations, and trends.
• Represents medical services and programs.
• Serves as manager of medical program operations.
• Serves as Medical Director and as foil-line supervisor which includes union, non-union, and contractual staff
• Assign and reviews work.
• Provides guidance and training to assigned staff.
• Counsels staff regarding work performance.
• Reassigns staff to meet day-to-day operating needs.
• Establishes annual goals and objectives.
• Adjusts first level grievances.
• Effectively recommends and imposes discipline, up to and Including discharge.
• Prepares and signs performance evaluations.
• Determines and recommends staffing needs.
• Performs incident Investigation and reporting.
