PFS Analyst (Physician Billing)

100% Remote | Indiana Residents Only

Pay Rate: $16.00–$17.00/hour

Contract Length: 6 Months contract to direct hire for IN residents only

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented PFS Analyst (Physician Billing) to join a large, high-volume healthcare revenue cycle team. This role plays a critical part in resolving insurance claims, ensuring accurate reimbursement, and supporting the financial health of a major Indiana-based healthcare system.

What You’ll Do

As a PFS Analyst, you will be responsible for timely and accurate resolution of physician billing accounts receivable. Your day-to-day work will involve reviewing unpaid or underpaid claims, identifying issues, and taking appropriate action to secure payment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing and analyzing insurance claims to determine reasons for non-payment
  • Performing insurance follow-up with commercial, government, and third-party payers
  • Submitting corrected and/or resubmitted claims as needed
  • Appealing denials and pursuing underpayments
  • Posting payments and adjustments accurately
  • Supporting audit defense and recovery initiatives
  • Managing patient-related billing and collection activities
  • Maintaining accuracy across provider enrollment, charge descriptions, and fee schedules

You’ll regularly navigate multiple systems simultaneously, including billing platforms, claims systems, payer portals, and electronic health records.

Systems & Tools

You will receive training on all systems, which may include:

  • GE Centricity
  • Cerner
  • SMS
  • IDX
  • Medicaid portals
  • Search America
  • Various insurance carrier websites
Training & Schedule
  • Training: 4–6 weeks (may extend if additional support is needed)
    • Training shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Post-training schedule:
    • Flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, working a full 8-hour shift
  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote
    • Indiana residency required for potential permanent consideration

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of healthcare or medical office experience involving insurance (copays, deductibles, medical terminology, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems at once
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of medical billing or physician billing experience
  • Recent graduates of medical billing and coding programs seeking hands-on industry experience
  • Experience working insurance accounts receivable or claim follow-up

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
