The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Project Manager II, you will oversee the full lifecycle of engineering and construction-focused projects, from early planning and proposal development through execution and closeout. You will serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams, clients, and external partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution across mechanical engineering and building systems initiatives, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource planning to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, design teams, and construction stakeholders, maintaining clear and proactive communication.
- Support proposal development, project costing, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain timelines and financial targets.
- Facilitate regular project review meetings to ensure milestones, compliance requirements, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities within existing client relationships and supporting new pursuits.
- Ensure all deliverables meet regulatory standards, technical specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 7 to 12 years of experience in engineering, construction, or project management, ideally within healthcare or complex facilities environments.
- Proven ability to manage mid-to-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
- Strong understanding of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience with client-facing responsibilities and relationship management.
- Professional Engineer license or progress toward licensure is preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
