Job Title: Process Technician/Mechanical Operator (2nd/3rd Shift) $21.75-22/hour

Job Description

The Process Technician monitors and operates thermoforming production lines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. This role performs start-up, shutdown, and cycling of thermoforming equipment, troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime and scrap, completes line changeovers and documentation, and supports quality assurance activities. The Process Technician works closely with operators and other team members, follows strict safety and sanitation standards, and maintains accurate production records in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate thermoforming equipment, including extruders, formers, and trim presses, to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production.
  • Perform complete start-up, shutdown, and cycling procedures for the entire thermoforming line according to established protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and correct equipment and process issues to reduce downtime, scrap, and defective product.
  • Perform and document in-process quality checks to verify that products meet specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and process issues.
  • Experience in production, manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse, or general labor environments.
  • Dependable work history with strong attendance and punctuality.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to accurately complete documentation and enter data into production systems such as WebEFF.
  • Willingness to complete on-the-job training and demonstrate understanding of process responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in mechanical work or mechanical experience in a production or manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility where thermoforming and related production equipment generate a noticeable amount of heat. The environment involves working around machinery, grease, oils, solvents, and some dust, with visual and audible alarms in use throughout the production area. Required personal protective equipment includes eye protection, ear protection, a hair net, smock, and bump cap, which must be worn as directed. The standard schedule includes an evening shift 3PM-11:30PM and overnight shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
