We are seeking an early career Mechanical Engineer to be an integral part of the engineering team that keeps NSI on the forefront of NDT technology. This position drives technical innovations in industrial x-ray, automation, and CT products from prototype to commercialization.

What You’ll Do:

Primary Responsibilities -

  • Provide robust mechanical design and technical support of NSI products and components throughout product lifecycle.

  • Develop complex machine designs incorporating motion control systems, robotics, and part handling in accordance with product requirements. Precision material handling equipment design experience preferred, but not required.

  • Design components and assemblies using SolidWorks.

  • Prepare detailed drawings and bills of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment.

  • Provide analysis of drive systems, structural assemblies and sub-components using basic calculation methods and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

  • Interface with manufacturing to support product assembly, testing, troubleshooting and installation.

  • Interface with project/product management to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements.

  • Develop working knowledge of X-ray and NDT techniques through NSI technical experts and practical application.

  • Lead and participate in design reviews for minor designs with cross functional teams and customers.

  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of software, controls, and NDT engineers to develop innovative solutions.

  • Prepare detailed customer installation layouts and facilities requirements for the customer.

  • Support technical services to provide customer support as required.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking qualified candidates who bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience (machine design preferred).

  • Skilled at 3D modeling and detail drawing (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Inventor).

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical analysis using FEA and hand calculations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Ability to take lead when necessary.

  • Adaptable to rapidly changing environment.

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Compensation Information:

Compensation for this position ranges from $72,800-$104,000 based on education and experience.
