Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Join a multidisciplinary team to design and develop engineering solutions for gas turbine power generation and industrial process systems. Utilize your expertise to ensure designs meet industry standards and support the growth mindset within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure design meets all industry standards including drawing GD&T, materials selection, thermal management, vibration, ventilation, lubrication, fuel supply management, manufacturability, and mechanical & electrical acceptance.
  • Adopt a fabrication-centric design approach to ensure ease of equipment installation and integration.
  • Develop and design 3D models using SolidWorks for mechanical components and assemblies, and create detailed 2D technical drawings.
  • Review manufacturing and assembly drawings to ensure proper fabrication and integration.
  • Perform and facilitate CAE analysis including thermal, fluid flow, foundation, acoustic, and structural analysis.
  • Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) and other technical documentation as required.
  • Continuously improve design processes and standards for efficiency and quality.
  • Stay up to date with the latest SolidWorks tools and design trends to implement best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, production, management, project management, sales, and purchasing departments.
  • Review and approve all project-specific design documents including calculations, drawings, specifications, and equipment.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports for review and status updates.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and team members to prepare and implement solution-centric roadmaps.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organization skills to interface directly with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in 3D and 2D design (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
  • Experience in SolidWorks PDM
  • Understanding of Thermodynamics, Structural skid design analysis, power generation, turbine, industrial machinery, thermal management, vibration analysis, ventilation, and fuel supply
  • Expert level knowledge in Thermal, Acoustical, Structural, and Power Generation engineering

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • EIT/PE certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in sheet metal, engineering, HVAC, manufacturing process, structural analysis, CAE, PDM, and product development

Work Environment

This role primarily involves sedentary work, with the ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally. The position requires substantial talking and hearing, along with repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Visual acuity is necessary for accuracy and neatness in work. All employees are subject to pre-employment checks and drug screens. Approximately 30% travel may be required to visit client/vendor/supplier sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corona, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
