Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the design and execution of industrial heating and process equipment projects. This role involves overseeing projects from the initial engineering phases through to calculations, fabrication, vendor coordination, and field support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Section VIII Division 1 pressure vessel and B31.3 piping calculations.
  • Develop P&IDs, BOMs, GAs, and shop fabrication drawings.
  • Direct drafters to ensure accuracy and buildability of designs.
  • Coordinate internal teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
  • Manage vendors and long-lead equipment to ensure timely project progression.
  • Support shop fabrication and welding processes.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, ensuring clarity and satisfaction with project outcomes.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical engineering foundation.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant codes and standards.
  • Exposure to pressure vessels, skid-mounted systems, and industrial heating equipment.
  • Experience in managing scope, schedule, and cost in a project engineering environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pressure vessels and boiler systems.
  • Combustion experience is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to design and interface with customers and internal teams on heat exchanger builds and fluid vessel exchangers.

This is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
