Mechanical Design Engineer IV (2555)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) team supporting gas turbine engineering and global supply chain operations. This role focuses on providing engineering support for annular hot gas path components such as blades, nozzles, and heat shields.

You will play a key role in analyzing hardware deviations, improving manufacturability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and delivery of complex turbine components.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to resolve manufacturing issues related to gas turbine hot gas path components.
• Analyze and disposition non-conforming hardware using engineering judgment and analytical tools.
• Support design improvements by revising engineering drawings to enhance manufacturability.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders globally.
• Act as a technical point of contact for new process qualifications and supplier changes.
• Conduct design reviews and assess risks at component, assembly, and system levels.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, processes, and quality requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design and manufacturing methods.
• Support cost reduction and performance improvements in turbine components.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, methods, and coatings.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and bills of materials.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional environment.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tools such as Ansys, NX, or similar analytical software.
• Experience in non-conformance dispositioning of hardware.
• Background in gas turbine design or rotating machinery (especially hot gas path components).
