Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Design

Contract‑to‑Hire | Fully Remote (ET or CT)

Based out of Nashville, TN

Pay: $43.27–$60.10/hr

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with direct nuclear industry experience to support the design and modernization of nuclear power plants. You’ll work on safety‑critical systems for a globally recognized energy and power‑generation organization known for innovation, scale, and long‑term stability.

Nuclear design experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis for nuclear power plant systems
  • Define performance specifications aligned with nuclear codes and regulations
  • Conduct engineering studies, modeling, and evaluations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and plant stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance on designs, methods, and deliverables
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing in the nuclear industry (required)
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
  • 4–12 years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of nuclear codes, standards, and QA requirements
Preferred
  • Experience with utility Engineering Change Control (ECC)
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $60.10/hr.
