As a MDS Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities

 

  • Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
  • Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
  • Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
  • Escalates issues to appropriate leaders
  • Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Experience with Python scripting and automation
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, multicast, and latency concepts
  • Experience supporting technical systems or applications in a production environment
  • Understanding of data workflows, data pipelines, or data distribution systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues using diagnostic tools and methodologies
  • Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Experience with cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Basic technical knowledge of additional technical domains
  • Basic data fluency and automation knowledge
  Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 
  • Knowledge of market data symbology, identifiers, reference data, and conventions such as futures rolls and corporate actions
  • Experience with market data distribution platforms (e.g., IDP, AMPS, AAAS, RMDS/TREP, Bloomberg BPIPE/MFA, Refinitiv Data Feeds, Solace) and direct exchange connectivity/feeds, including DACS entitlements
  • Exposure to trading or front-office support environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and forensic tools such as ITRS Geneos
  • Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies, including the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • A drive to continuously develop infrastructure engineering knowledge, data fluency, and automation skills
