Mathematics Instructor (Full-Time) Quad City Campus & East Campus
This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 2026

The Mathematics Instructor provides high-quality instruction across the mathematics curriculum, including Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I–III, and related courses. The faculty member prepares and delivers engaging instruction, evaluates student learning, maintains instructional materials and equipment, and contributes to curriculum development. This position supports the mission and values of Black Hawk College by fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment and participating in departmental and institutional service.
Master’s degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics is required—except as noted below. At least 18 graduate semester hours in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and/or statistics are required—except as noted below. A master’s degree in mathematics is preferred. To teach Calculus I or any course with Calculus I or II as a prerequisite, at least 18 graduate semester hours in pure mathematics is required—including real analysis or equivalent. To teach statistics for general education, math for general education, or math for elementary education, a master’s degree in math education is acceptable. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level is preferred. Must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.PLEASE NOTE:This position requires the submission of a cover letter, résumé, three letters of recommendation, and transcripts.
