Our client, an educational organization dedicated to empowering young adults through comprehensive learning and career development, is seeking a Math Instructor to join their team. As a Math Instructor, you will be part of the Brooklyn-based Job Corps Program supporting aspiring students. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Math Instructor

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Pay Range: $28 - $30 per hour 

Shift: 7:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday

Duration:  Temporary

What's the Job?

  • Develop and enhance math curriculum materials, lesson plans, and activities aligned with educational standards and participant needs.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive math lessons using diverse teaching methodologies to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Help participants understand fundamental math concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra and geometry.
  • Create assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate understanding, providing timely feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior, participation, and collaboration.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching math at various levels, with a solid foundation in core math subjects.
  • New York State Teaching Certification in Mathematics (grades 7-12).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, motivating environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
