Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Material Planning & Production Planning Engineer to manage material master data, optimize inventory, and drive efficient production planning processes. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP (PP/MM/MRP modules), excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Material Planning & Master Data Management
- Maintain and regularly review Material Master data, with a strong focus on MRP 1 to MRP 4 views to ensure planning accuracy.
- Perform quarterly safety stock analysis based on consumption patterns, demand variability, and business needs.
- Conduct ABC, XYZ, and FMR analysis to optimize lot sizing and define appropriate MRP strategies.
MRP & Production Planning
- Monitor and analyze MRP exception messages; coordinate with relevant teams to resolve planning and execution issues.
- Ensure timely conversion of planned orders into production orders to meet demand and minimize backlog.
- Track and manage open backlog, including identifying incorrect demand generation and misclassified sales orders.
System Cleanup & Data Accuracy
- Perform routine system housekeeping to enhance planning reliability, including:
- Resolving COGI errors
- Closing or correcting outdated purchase requisitions
- Reviewing and resolving open deliveries
- Cleaning obsolete planned and production orders
- Closing outdated reservations
- Analyze and resolve IDOC errors in coordination with IT and relevant stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Buyers to ensure timely updates of Planned Independent Requirements (PIRs) and Source Lists (SL).
- Work with Process Engineering teams to:
- Correct and update Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Align planning strategies (e.g., E vs. E/50)
- Lead and coordinate Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation from a planning and scheduling perspective.
Inventory Optimization & E&O Management
- Conduct regular Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory analysis.
- Lead E&O review meetings and drive cross-functional actions such as rework, reuse, resale, or scrapping.
Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Drive automation initiatives within production scheduling and planning processes.
- Identify system inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities to enhance operational performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with SAP MRP, production planning, and scheduling processes
