Job Summary

We are seeking a Material Support Specialist to join a leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operation in Lafayette, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end flow, control, and integrity of materials and components throughout the maintenance and repair process. This role requires close collaboration with technicians, inspectors, and engineering teams to ensure the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining strict quality, safety, and traceability standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage movement of parts and materials to and from MRB (Material Review Board) crib locations following established storage procedures.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and proper material handling within SAP and other ERP systems.
  • Perform physical inventory counts and cycle counts for components, labels, and finished goods.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and process corrective actions as required.
  • Audit and verify materials and components before processing transactions or preparing inbound/outbound shipments.
  • Update inventory status, locations, and transactions within ERP/SAP systems, ensuring system records accurately reflect physical inventory.
  • Retrieve parts for inspectors and MRB engineers, assist with photographs and measurements, and return materials to proper locations.
  • Execute material disposition activities including moving parts to rework, scrap, shipping, or stock locations based on MRB decisions.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of scrap materials according to company procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements within a warehouse and shop-floor environment.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or logistics.
  • Experience working with ERP/MES systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanners, inventory transactions, and material tracking processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials within defined weight limits.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or MRO shop environment.


Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, MRO, industrial, or supply chain environment experience.
  • Prior experience supporting inventory and material movement activities within SAP.
