Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler supports production by accurately pulling and delivering materials to the press, managing inventory, and handling incoming and outgoing shipments. You will learn stock names, interpret job tickets, perform basic math to determine required material quantities, and operate material handling equipment in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and accurately identify the names and types of stock materials used in production.
  • Read and interpret job tickets to determine material requirements for each press job.
  • Perform basic math calculations to determine the correct amount of material needed for each job.
  • Load and unload semi-trucks using manual and electronic pallet jacks.
  • Assist with inventory activities, including counting, organizing, and tracking materials.
  • Operate manual and electronic pallet jacks safely to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Support machine operating activities as needed to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience working with inventory and inventory control processes.
  • 3+ years of experience using math in a work setting to perform calculations and measurements.
  • 2+ years of hands-on mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets and production documentation.
  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per day.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials and inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with machine operating in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity in solving problems and improving processes.
  • Willingness to complete forklift training and certification when offered.
  • Comfort working with a variety of materials and handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple jobs and material needs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a standard shift of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will spend most of the day on your feet, moving materials and supporting production operations. The position involves regular use of manual and electronic pallet jacks, with the opportunity for forklift operation after training and certification. The dress code is casual and practical: jeans, closed-toe shoes, and a clean T-shirt, suitable for a hands-on production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
