Position Summary

The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure on-time delivery of aerospace components and assemblies. This role translates customer demand and engineering requirements into executable production plans while maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material and tool requirements for production, manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Schedule production factoring in work orders, maintenance, new product development, inventory availability and capacity planning.
  • Develop and maintain production plans and schedules for aerospace parts and assemblies.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, customer schedules, and capacity to balance workload and resources.
  • Track production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, priorities, or constraints
  • Strong interaction with assembly, purchasing, warehouse, engineering, quality and customer support.
  • Take the lead in resolving issues when products are behind schedule or at risk of being behind schedule.
  • Owns production orders from start to finish, recording time and output and troubleshooting any discrepancies immediately with a common goal of correcting the problems.
  • Accurate and timely completion of production orders.
  • Maintain the ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements.
  • Create, review, and release work orders in ERP/MRP system.
  • Maintain accurate planning data including lead times, routings, and bills of material
  • Maintain ERP system parameters including material master data and performance criteria.
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing and management to provide timely status of work products and / or problem identification and resolution.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams to meet internal deadlines set forth by management.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure build readiness.
  • Monitor material availability and work closely with Purchasing to mitigate shortages.
  • Monitor & implement changes as required both in system and shop floor.
  • Communicate with outside process vendors and end user customers when necessary to troubleshoot and/or schedule.
  • Adheres to company Quality Management System policies and procedures to ensure product quality.


Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Physically medium duty work required.
  • Requires standing continuously and walking and sitting occasionally throughout the day.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds frequently.


Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or other related discipline,
  • 5 years of ERP experience in a manufacturing environment, with minimum of 2 years working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Complete understanding and application of ERP/MRP principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Strong communication skills and effectiveness building relationships at all levels.
  • Knowledge required in lean manufacturing methods, 5-S/6-S standards, cellular layout manufacturing, and single piece flow concepts.
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy in all efforts, quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis in Excel
  • Teamwork, reliable attendance, and willingness to work overtime as needed
