Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer V
Location: Pontiac, IL
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift (8:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Initial training on 1st shift)
Compensation: Up to $100K annual equivalent
Position Overview
My client is seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer V to support fuel injector assembly operations within a high-performance manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring production efficiency, quality excellence, and process reliability through hands-on engineering support and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will play a key role in driving assembly process optimization, resolving production issues, and implementing APQP methodologies, directly impacting product performance and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for assembly processes, ensuring optimal production efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot assembly equipment and process issues, including root cause analysis of test failures and production defects.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce variation, and improve reliability.
- Develop and maintain APQP documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and PFMEA.
- Analyze production data and identify deviations from standards; implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, operations, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Support standard work development, process validation, and risk mitigation activities.
Required Qualifications
- Master's OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in assembly environments.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with assembly processes and manufacturing operations.
- Expertise in APQP, PFMEA, and process documentation.
- Proven ability in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process optimization.
- Assembly of fuel injectors (would be a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools (Teams).
